English for Speakers of Other Languages
A variety of courses are available to students of all ages. Individual and group courses are offered.
- Weekly tutorial courses focus on listening, speaking, reading and writing. These courses are held at the Centre.
- Short courses are designed to meet the specific needs of individuals or small groups. The emphasis in these courses is on: pronunciation, intonation, the correct use of phrasing, pause and emphasis and the development of fluency.
The Speech and Learning Centre specialises in Spoken English and in preparing students for the IELTS Speaking test. Language schools and secondary schools are able to access this specialist tuition on the basis of a short-term contract.
Students are encouraged to enter the OCESOL examinations appropriate to their level.
