Sounds Right! Series
Teaching pronunciation to improve intelligibility helps the learner to develop confidence in speaking English. Each book in the Sounds Right! series targets the sounds of English that speakers of a particular language find difficult to pronounce. This varies, as each language group has difficulty with different aspects of English pronunciation. The programme identifies characteristic difficulties and provides specific activities that teachers can use with learners to improve pronunciation. These publications are ideal for use in schools, language schools and in homestay situations.
Written by Merle Braithwaite, published by Curriculum Concepts, this series was launched at the CLESOL Conference at King’s College in Auckland in October 2008.
